Recognition and working method

What I can show and how I work, for landowners, municipalities and heritage agencies.

Recognition

Recognised metal detectorist

I am recognised by agentschap Onroerend Erfgoed. Recognition is needed to search for archaeological finds with a metal detector.

How I work

With permission

I only search with the permission of the owner or user of the land.

Reporting finds

I report my archaeological finds via the Onroerend Erfgoed reporting tool.

Rules and code

I work according to the Onroerenderfgoeddecreet and the Code van Goede Praktijk.

Locations stay private

I never publish exact find spots, only the region.

Permissions

Several municipalities and a Flemish government agency have given me permission to search on their land. I am happy to share which organisations in person.

Farmers in the Zuiderkempen

Farmers in the Zuiderkempen gave me permission to search their land. It is an ongoing relationship: I come back regularly, work around the crops, leave the land as I found it and show them what I find. Many of them find the history of their own field interesting.

Collaborations

I work with several heritage communities and local authorities on projects about the history of our region. Out of respect for those partners, I do not name them here.

I am happy to share which projects and with whom in person. Feel free to get in touch.

Want to work together or discuss permission?

I am happy to explain how I work carefully and transparently, and to share an overview of my finds and reports.
